It’s Raining Craft!

Hopefully, the weather will be sunnier this weekend… there’s a lot to get out to Brooklyn and Queens for!  This weekend is the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn.  Whoop!  I don’t know if you get as excited as I do, but I’m raring to get out there and see what great stuff there will be this year.

This weekend also brings the opening of the NewNew House on Governor’s Island, where several artists and craftspeople (including one of my favorites Claudia Pearson) will be selling and showing their work.

If you’re in Queens and the stifling heat has you pining for the Beer Gardens, stop by the Makers Market on the way.  It looks like it’s going to be a really fun event, and it’s hosted in the beautiful Socrates Sculpture Park.

Last but not least, the Brooklyn Flea is going over the top this weekend by hosting the prolific potter Jonathan Adler in addition to kicking off their summer music series with Camera Obscura in the Vault.  Wow.  I’m going to need another 3 day weekend to recover from all this!

Give me a shout in the comments if you make it to any of the above this weekend.  Take an umbrella and enjoy the heck outta yourselves!
