Monday Muse: Diana Sudyka

11 May

To get my booty movin’ and printing, I’ve decided to start each week with a post on an artist I admire.  Today it’s Diana Sudyka, a screen-printer and illustrator from Chicago, IL who has created gig posters for Andrew Bird, Feist, Neko Case and Camera Obscura to name just a few!

I met Diana at Printstock*, a fair for gig posters that travels to different music festivals (SXSW, Bumpershoot, Pitchfork), and have been a big admirer ever since.  She’s got a wonderfully big imagination and I love the fluid, inky lines she uses to bring movement and character to her artwork.

Check out her work and links to her online store here:  www.dianasudyka.com

*P.S.    Little secret… I’m addicted to gigposters!  If you want to find a wide array of posters of your favorite bands (some of them screen-printed by hand!) go to Gigposters.com.  They’ve got thousands of posters you can ogle and purchase online.  They also organize Printstock and came out with a book cataloging some of the amazing posters from their site last year.
